Piano Course for Christians - Learning to play from a Christian perspective

Piano Course for Christians - Homeschool Edition

The homeschool editions have been prepared for those who have no access to a piano teacher. Learning with a qualified teacher is always preferred.

The four-volume Piano Course for Christians has been organized in lesson segments and has been enlarged to include generally the comments of a piano teacher in a piano lesson. The lesson books include all the rudiments, technique, and theory necessary to learning how to play, as well as hymns and gospel songs of interest to the Christian pianist.

The packet of materials for each level includes a video cassette which depicts a teacher working with a student, demonstrating each lesson. Each composition has a metronome marking, and all work must be done with a metronome. The price of the first packet includes a quality digital metronome. It is imperative, when learning without a teacher or other pianist, that a complete packet be used. Only with the book, metronome and video, can one expect any degree of success. If a parent or sibling plays the piano quite well and can supervise the progress of the student, one may not need the video. And there is no need to purchase a metronome if one already owns one, though a digital metronome is much more reliable than a mechanical one.
